photo #7 inspiration

I want to do portrait for my next photo assignment. Now that I have seen our portrait lighting demo, I know how to use light to make my picture look good. Another option I have is shadows and light. I think that I could get a good picture for both of those.

Gasparovich_still life_assignment

I chose to take this photo for my still life assignment. I thought of how colorful it would look if I used different colors of nail polish. It looked creative when I put them in a heart shape. The black background brought out the bright colors of the nail polishes. I tried to make many different shapes, but my favorite was the heart. Still life was tough to figure out what to take a picture of. When I got this picture, I knew it was a great example.

Gasparovich_car_gimp

In this assignment we used gimp again to practice editing our photos. We took a picture of a car, and had to change it up using different editing tools to make it look better. It's really cool how I now know how to do this.

Gasparovich_nature

I chose to do nature for this assignment. When I looked outside, I noticed that the sky was really pretty. The sunset had colors of orange, yellow, and blue, and it had a unique pattern of clouds. It was very pretty for a photo. I took many different angles of pictures, so I had many different perspectives of the sunset. This is one of my favorite photos that I took.

Gasparovich_Pattern

Gasparovich_Pattern

Gasparovich_pattern_photo2

I chose to do pattern for this assignment. The reason I chose this is because there are many examples of patterns and textures everywhere. I took many pictures of different patterns. I also took some for texture too. The picture that was my favorite was a picture of a unique pattern. Out of all of my photos this one really stood out to me because of how creative it looked. I took a black under armor backpack and zoomed in on a small area that showed the pattern. It was very different from anything I have seen. That is why I took this photo.

Gasparovich_animal_photo 1

I took many photos of my two pets. I wanted to do animals because I always take pictures of my cat and/or dog. It was very hard choosing the best picture that I took, because there were so many that I loved. The picture I took was of my dog and I thought that it was a really good close up of her. Being outside was a great background for this photo. I know that I can take really great pictures of my dog and they always turn out very good. I get very creative when taking pictures of my pets.

Composition Assignment 2

For my perspective photo, I took a picture of my friend standing on the second floor above me. I thought it was a great way to show perspective.
For balance, I took a picture of a chair that I balanced against a wall in the hallway.
For color, I took a picture of a vending machine in the commons. It had a lot of bright colors.
For space, I took a picture of a cork board that was blank with only a couple tacs placed in the center.
For framing, I took a picture of a hallway. When you enter it there is a frame-looking opening. It looked very creative for perspective.

From this assignment I learned about how to use all of these features when taking pictures. I never thought about taking pictures in this way. I think that these are really creative ways to create a photo.

Composition Assignment 1

In this assignment, we took many pictures to show 6 types of different photos. They were pattern, rule of thirds, symmetry, texture, depth of field and lines. Each picture had to represent one of these.

For pattern, I took a picture of a chair in the school library. I chose this chair because it had a very creative pattern that i really liked. It was also very colorful which made the pattern stand out.
For rule of thirds, I took a picture of a combination lock on a locker. I used rule of thirds to take a really good picture of it.
For texture, I took a picture of a section of the wall located by the high school auditorium. It was a really neat texture that I knew would be perfect to use.
For symmetry, I took a picture of a the stairs in the high school. It was a great example of symmetry.
For lines, I took a picture of a railing while on the stairs. It looked really cool when i finished taking the picture.
For depth of fields, I took a picture while standing on the 3rd floor overlooking the narrow hallway.

From this assignment I learned, how to use all these 6 different settings to take pictures. I never knew about them and now I am really excited to be able to take more pictures like these in the future!
